Description Position Summary:

Looking for a position with a high-energy, fast-paced, growing organization? LEGOLAND California Resort is looking for a detailed-oriented, data cruncher to help manage hotel revenue and room nights.

Responsible for overall revenue management of LEGOLAND California Resort hotels and accommodations, maximizing REVPAR and occupancy to meet Resort targets.

The ideal candidate is an out of the box thinker looking to understand “the why" behind business decisions, takes a proactive role in problem-solving, and is able to work in a collaborative team environment.

Scope & Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage room inventories, market mix, and pricing strategies via close collaboration with key stakeholders, and analysis of competitor pricing, dynamics and trends of the local market, demand generators, future forecasts, and historical data, underpinned by clear communication with related departments.

  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding room occupancy and revenue budget targets by communicating directly with call center and accommodation front office teams, to ensure compliance through direction and business analysis review.

  • Champion primary resort strategy position to drive occupancy and in turn drive growth of overall park attendance.

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to set the hotel and accommodation strategy and tactics to maximize revenue and support the Resort’s financial goals, with a focus on total revenue management. This includes Marketing, Sales, Hotel, Food & Beverage and Retail teams.

  • Work with Marketing team to generate demand during need periods, and leverage awareness and sales driving plans.

  • Optimize sales opportunities within third party channels such as OTAs, travel agents and wholesalers.

  • Develop, monitor and adjust group pricing strategies, preferred patterns and need periods. Perform displacement analysis on groups to support group sales decisions.

  • Ensure a focus on total Revenue Management, including parking, food & beverage, retail and other revenue opportunities. Requires superior strategic planning and execution skills, with a focus on total Revenue Management.

  • Track, analyze and report on the performance of all revenue generating activities, providing recommendations and/or proposing new initiatives and product development opportunities in support of the Resort’s financial goals.

  • Identify trends by analyzing competitors, staying abreast of market trends, rate shopping and participating in appropriate associations (CVBs, hotel lodging associations, etc.).

  • Analyzing and reviewing monthly and weekly STAR Report results, understanding gains or losses of REVPAR Indexes and applying this knowledge to impact and predict future results.

  • Produce hotel forecasts to be used within the business, and make recommendations based on findings and targets. Utilize historical data and current trends for forecasting.

  • Manage and yield rates across the Opera, TravelClick and ISO Pacific systems to support agreed rate strategies. Includes, but is not limited to:

  • Restrictions

  • Inventory allocation to 3rd parties, etc.

  • Updates weekly comp set analysis report

  • Review Opera, TravelClick and ISO Pacific systems/interfaces regularly to ensure systems, rates and inventory are properly selling and optimized. Ensure all systems are consistently up and running.

  • Work with the National Call Center and Hotel Operations Teams to ensure effective and efficient management of inventory as well as to ensure all strategies and relative information are communicated to team members. Includes communicating rates, restrictions, policy updates and revenue management initiatives

  • Active role in setting and delivering annual rooms budget.

  • Additional duties as assigned. Background and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hotel revenue management experience, preferably managing 500 rooms across multiple properties.

  • Skilled in analysis, problem solving and decision making.

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, extremely comfortable compiling and manipulating data. Must possess a demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

  • Highly analytical and creative, capable of monitoring trends and reporting on performance, while developing new ideas and revenue streams across the Resort’s hotels and accommodations.

  • Opera experience preferable. Training will be provided, so applicants are not required to have experience with Opera PMS system, but must demonstrate ability to learn systems quickly.

  • Candidates must be self-motivated and goal-oriented, with exceptional strategic planning skills. Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, and demonstrate the ability to work among a group of diverse individuals as part of a team.

  • Must possess strong communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Track record of working collaboratively with others to achieve desired results.

  • Extensive knowledge of OTA and travel wholesale business knowledge. Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or closely related field required (or equivalent education and experience). Revenue management certificate a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, safe driving record and be willing to utilize own vehicle for business purposes. Must have reliable transportation to attend meetings and manage field sales activities.

  • Must have or be able to get a valid passport and relevant travel visas. May require travel domestically and internationally. Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for sustained periods of time to attend onsite and offsite meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel and drive.

  • Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park, participate in trade shows and interact with employees.

  • Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork and use a computer.

  • Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, complete paperwork activities and drive.

  • Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone. Work Environment:
