The Afterschool Program at Palomar Apartments Community Rec. Center is a place for children from all backgrounds to play, socialize, learn and grow. A lead teacher is responsible for the supervision and management of their classroom while supporting Palomar Apartments goals and outcomes. Working with the Community Administrator of Palomar Apartments and staff, the lead teacher plans and carries out daily activities, evaluates the effectiveness of the program , ensures the safety and physical well-being of the children and maintains regular communication with the child's parents.
18 years of age or older.
Graduation from high school.
Highly organized with attention to detail
Ability to relate effectively with diverse population
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and flexibility.
Great communication skills, both oral and written
At least 1 year of experience working in an after-school setting or with elementary age children.
Must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the Afterschool Program.
