Aerostructures in Chula Vista CA, designs, manufactures, and integrates nacelles, thrust reversers, pylons and flight control surfaces for commercial and military aircraft. Aerostructures includes the Engineered Polymer Products business, which designs, tests and manufactures composite components for ships, submarines and commercial airplanes.
We are looking for a Stress Engineer to:
Guide and mentor others in stress analysis on nacelle structural hardware.
Work independently to perform stress analysis and develop analytical methods for complex technical issues requiring creativity and ingenuity in supporting airline operational requirements, formal certification reports, and design changes.
Prepare RAS/8110-3 documents including substantiating analysis and obtain/coordinate sign-off with Airworthiness organization.
Prepare analysis package to support SRM/CMM repair development for submission to the Type Certificate holder.
US Citizen or US Person
Detailed knowledge of maintenance and repair practices used in the aerospace industry.
Ability to apply advanced structural analysis principals to support repair design development on metallic and composite structures. Thorough understanding of load path and load balance and experience in classical hand analysis methods used in Aerospace structural analysis.
Experience with Nastran (soln's 101, 105, 106)
Detailed understanding of aircraft structural components.
Posses excellent technical writing and PC skills.
Capable of positively interacting in a team environment and have good listening and verbal communication skills.
Ability to represent company in technical review meetings and have excellent customer relations and negotiating skills.
Willing to lead technical teams and mentor engineers with less experience.
- Basic understanding of engine mount static, fatigue and crack growth analysis.
