  • Summary *

The Clinical Nurse – New Grad RN performs the nursing process through individualized assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe, therapeutic, efficient care for patients with overt needs throughout the continuum of care, and according to unit’s standards of care. Performs safe nursing care for patients with assistance and supervision. Accountable for own practice. Demonstrates baseline competency in all areas of the unit skills. Safely administers medication and uses common equipment. Works closely with others on the healthcare team to coordinate care. Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize the workload, recognize emergency situation, and appropriately seeks assistance. Complies with all regulatory and accreditation standards. New Grads will have six weeks of preceptorship along with eight classroom days.

45-bed Progressive Care Unit shared between 5-West (33-beds) and 2-South (12-beds) whose patient population includes post cath, post PTCA, TAVR patients, and any other cardiac diagnosis including post open heart surgery. We also provide care to all stable (trach) vent patients. Specialized training is provided for ventilators and epicardial pacing skills when you join our team.

  • Required Skills & Qualifications *

  • Must be a graduate of a U.S. state-approved and accredited nursing program

  • Must have a current unencumbered California RN license

  • Must have a current CPR certification appropriate for a healthcare provider

  • Must have graduated no more than 18 months prior to the start of the new grad program

  • Must have less than 12 months RN work experience by the new grad program start date

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing

  • Relevant Acute Care preceptorship or externship preferred
