We are seeking a Sales & Marketing Manager for our La Mesa, CA community, The Montera.

About the Job:

The Sales and Marketing Manager welcomes, offers guidance, and presents solutions through the decision making process. The customer experience sales approach is professionally managed through every touch point including touring, creative follow-up, reservation/apartment selection, and smooth move-in transition, with a welcoming hospitality focused experience for residents and their families.

In addition to the talents listed, WESTliving is looking to fill this position with a person who possesses the following:



  • Represent the community in welcoming prospective residents, family members, referral sources and the public in a positive, helpful, and caring manner.

  • Answer telephone inquiries, meet and qualify prospective residents. Conduct tours to demonstrate the services, lifestyle, convenience and benefits of the community. Complete appropriate tracking cards, schedule tours, prepare and mail community brochures and do follow-up contacts.

  • Deal creatively with the needs and desires of the prospective resident in a manner that protects their dignity and allows choice.

  • Persuade prospective residents to reserve a specific apartment (close the sale) during each personal contact.

  • Maintain a contact file and follow-up according to procedure.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all matters dealing with prospective or current resident information.

  • Maintain accurate records of reserved and occupied units to facilitate information exchange with other team members.

  • Organize and maintain office files according to good business practice.

  • Maintain flexibility in work schedule to accommodate scheduling appointments with prospective residents, to participate in marketing and community events.

  • Prepare and distribute accurate sales reports in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that the sales area and model apartments are decorated in a pleasing and professional manner, clean, safe, and orderly.

  • Accurately complete and distribute rental forms.

  • Accomplish sales and marketing goals.


  • Distribute sales and collateral literature through personal interviews, home visits, and personal correspondence.

  • Attend business and community events where referral sources, prospective residents, care givers and their advisors are in attendance.

  • Maintain a contact file and follow-up according to procedure.


  • Understand the market area and distinguish community from other living options.

  • Assist in preparation of community marketing plans with the General Manager

  • Complete competitive analysis as requested by not less than every six months.

  • Convey a positive, enthusiastic, and professional image to referral sources and local leaders.

  • Carry out the activities delineated in the marketing plan in a timely and budget conscious manner.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales

  • Current driver’s license

  • Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Windows, and Outlook; marketing software

  • Data collection and analysis
