Job Description

Accenture’s Research & Development team develops and implements new generation solutions.In this role you will work with global teams and subject matter experts to deliver strategic cognitive computing projects from design, prototype to deployment and operation. As a Research Scientist, your responsibilities include:

  • Managing the entire lifecycle of a research project by working with business experts, helping identify the business value, and leading research and platform engineers to develop prototypes and pilot implementations for clients

  • Creating solutions by using Accenture’s global network, Accenture tech labs, our open innovation initiative, and Accenture Analytics

  • Providing leadership and guidance to the R&D team

  • Following multiple approaches on projects by adapting existing assets, exploring 3rd party and open source solutions and engaging in fundamental research

  • Contributing to Accenture’s internal and external publications, writing articles for leading journals and be a speaker or panelist in conferences


Basic Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or Masters in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience in cognitive computing product development is an advantage

  • Proven programming skills to enable rapid prototyping and implementation of solutions

  • Ability to understand business context and integrate cognitive and advanced analytics levers for solutions

  • Ability to articulate and clearly communicate the solution scope, timeline and benefits with clients

  • Ability to communicate tough messages in a professional manner to clients

  • Experience eliciting high-level business requirements and creating detailed functional specs as well as other documentation, such as requirement traceability matrices, work-flow diagrams and use-cases

  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with all relevant parties, particularly at the senior management level

  • Strong academic credentials with publications in journals and conferences an advantage

  • Ability to work in a global collaborative team environment Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English
