As Digital Design Director, you lead the design of thoughtful, engaging, seamless, innovative, and compelling design solutions for Petco consumer facing digital experiences.
Essential Job Functions:
Effectively conceptualize communicate high-level UX design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors across all platforms and devices.
Develop innovative and on-strategy designs and experiences
Deliver and own the end-to-end UX design process and deliverables from user flows through wireframes/prototypes to consumer facing page layouts/designs.
Solve problems conceptually in collaboration with the broader digital team, including Product Owners and UX.
Coordinate with Product Managers, and functional business stakeholders to define initiatives and build consensus around design requirements
Continuously evolve design strategy based on user feedback and test results to ensure solutions deliver real value to customers.
Collaborate with multiple functions to bring new experiences to market using agile methodologies.
Partner across the organization to help ensure continuity across channels and touch points for key customer journeys.
Lead and develop Digital UX design team, mentoring and providing ongoing feedback to help them strengthen their design techniques and develop their business consulting, communication and presentation skills
Conduct competitive and industry research to identify best practices
Meet objectives and strategies while adhering to tight deadlines
Presenting persuasively and clearly articulating design rationale
Leads UX/UI Design team
Standard office environment, working on Agile SCRUM team
A degree in Interaction/Experience Design or equivalent experience.
5+ years in user experience design.
Well-rounded UX and interaction design skills.
Experience working with business and development teams through the product lifecycle.
Experience leading & mentoring design talent
Experience with rapid prototyping using tools such as Axure & Invision.
Familiarity with responsive design and front-end development language Experience creating design systems, style guides, pattern libraries a plus
