Qualifications Summary: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and at least 2 years of employment recruiting experience at all levels (including knowledge of applicable federal and state laws pertaining to recruitment) required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, which may be verified through computer-based evaluations or other means. Experience with Taleo (or other applicant tracking systems) and ADP (or other HRIS services) is required. Experience with immigration, Affirmative Action, and non-profit organizations is preferred. Strong analytical, written and oral communication, listening, negotiation, organizational, and time management skills are required.
Job Description Summary: Manages recruitment and employment activities and assists with the support functions of the Human Resources (HR) department. Prepares personnel requisitions, job postings, job descriptions, and offer letters; sources and evaluates applicants. Conducts screening interviews. Administers assessments. Conducts reference and background checks. Conducts new hire orientation. Consults and advises hiring managers with questions related to recruitment and employment. Utilizes various recruitment methods and sources, including industry/field-specific job boards, professional networking, and competitor research to generate candidates for all open positions. Manages VMRF’s involvement in the UCSD Work Study Program. Maintains records and compiles statistical reports relating to recruitment, interviews, and hires etc. Performs a wide range of coordinating and supporting duties for the HR department. Utilizes various mechanisms and databases to track the progress of tasks required of employees, including processes related to VMRF employment and VA appointments (required of all employees). Assists employees with related paperwork for completeness and accuracy. Performs other general administrative tasks as necessary. Provides back-up support to all HR staff as needed. May perform additional duties as required.
