Job Overview This Program Manager position, will be part of the SW PMO tasked with managing internal validation and commercialization of chipset software with major OEMs, Mobile Partners and Telecom Carriers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing program management and leadership including the following core priorities:
Drive the planning/scheduling/execution of Software products internal testing, Certification and Commercialization
Develop the execution schedule comprehending, internal and external customer technical requirements for chipsets/devices, staffing needs and interdependencies across teams, divisions and third parties.
Establish routine update & communications process: update status, schedule trends vs baseline, risk management, mitigation and recovery actions, etc. Develop program indicators to push information to internal customer teams and management, develop content and present at various program reviews.
< Articulate vision and influence decision making and outcomes both within Qualcomm and with external suppliers
Partner with other functional areas to establish critical processes to support disciplined product testing and decision making and to ensure quality.
Co-ordination across multiple technology teams. This may include other Qualcomm sites as well as contractors and customers/carriers, both domestic and international.
Multi-task with and understand/facilitate/guide a variety of disciplines such as test and verification, product support, reliability, process control, scheduling, applications, marketing, and business/contracts.
Manage day to day execution, track completion of tasks, influence, and set direction of multi-faceted, multi-disciplined teams and programs independentlyIn addition, the following Interpersonal and Teamwork skill are required:
Understanding of team dynamics to provide appropriate direction and facilitation of team activities for complex issues.
Strong team player with a flexible can-do attitude.
Able to operate under pressure in the face of a highly dynamic engineering development environment.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and those involved in the project to build consensus. Ability to make formal, effective, and concise presentations to internal customers and management. Excellent public speaker and presentation skills.
Ability to coach and train others on SW Test processes and best practices. Ability to negotiate and persuade with a win-win attitude.
Minimum Qualifications 5+ years in the following areas required:
Software program management experience in semiconductor industry for telecommunications, or OEM/ODMs
Experience in wireless product development, test and certification environment
Experience with SW quality assurance for applications processors and modems
Experience with multi-site, multi-discipline Eng R&D environment
Expertise on MS Office Tools, Excel and PowerPoint
Workfront or similar project planning tool experience
- Knowledge of Qualcomm Modem Systems Software
Education Requirements Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
Preferred: Master's, Business Administration and/or Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
