Security Services Representative PT
The Security Services Representative is responsible for greeting guests, directing groups of people, patrolling the building and grounds of Corporation managed facilities
in a friendly, helpful and professional manner. Provides for the asset protection, security and safety of the guests, employees, property and the facility by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Smiles, greets, directs and lends assistance to guests, clients and employees at the facility or attending an event.
Provide and control access to show rooms and meeting rooms.
Patrols the building and grounds to protect guests, employees, property and the facility managed by the Corporation.
Monitors and directs vehicle
and pedestrian traffic at loading docks and front drive.
Prevents crime and reduces or eliminates hazards by pro actively alerting the appropriate party of any problems.
Attends briefing sessions to learn what events and activities are occurring within the facility and ascertain the status of show "move-ins" and "move-outs".
Conducts fire prevention duties such as identifying potential hazards, conducting fire extinguisher inspections, and monitoring computerized fire alarm system.
Secures the facility at night and opens in the morning as directed.
Administers First Aid and/or CPR when required.
Operates hand-held radio, electric cart, touch tone phone, video display terminal and keyboard.
May be required to prepare written daily logs, written reports on daily and major incidents.
May assist in monitoring closed circuit surveillance system and indoor alarm panel.
May be required to act as dispatch officer and contact person for paramedics and police when needed.
Maintains a professional image at all times.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
This is a part time on-call, union position with the Teamsters Union Local 542.
Pay Rate: $13.43 per hour

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in large public assembly facilities highly desirable. Courses in criminal justice
or security training by recognized academy, school or organization desirable.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
First Aid / CPR training preferred.
Strong written skills required. Availability to work day, evening or graveyard shifts including weekends and holidays. Ability to arrive to work on time in order to provide prompt assistance to attendees and guests. Working knowledge of
computers. Customer / guest services skills. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to diplomatically and tactfully resolve difficult and sensitive situations. Outgoing, with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently with little
direction. Bilingual ability a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have mobility within the facility, including movement from floor to floor.
The employee must be able to quickly traverse stairs and escalators in emergency and critical or time-sensitive situations.
The employee is required to be stationed at a post for an extended period of time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work
environment is usually moderate. Assigned work areas for this position may be located on different show floors which include lobby areas, security base, loading docks, exhibit halls, mezzanine level and upper level meeting rooms. The outside work environment
includes exposure to uneven street pavement and sidewalks, and high levels of pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Ability to work in hot and cold environments. Frequent interaction with guests and public contact.
