Rady Children's Toddler and Preschool Inclusion Program is an integrated, early education program that includes typically developing children, as well as children at risk for autism/pervasive developmental disorders. The Autism Education Associate (AEA) plans for and provides the daily routine, management, and supervision of the children assigned to him/her, and coordinates efforts with other teachers in the classroom. Within the program's daily schedule, ensures each child has the opportunity to create, explore, and learn problem solving and critical thinking skills through self-initiated and teacher-directed activities. Ensures that the center meets or exceeds licensing regulations. Trains parents of children with special needs to implement classroom techniques at home.


Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Child Development or related field

2 years of experience

Current BLS/CPR certification for Health Care Providers issued by the American Heart Association

Current First Aid certification

Per the CA Community Care Licensing board, Transcripts for Bachelor's Degree must be provided

Valid CA Driver's License and Proof of Auto Insurance

6 months of experience with special needs children (0-5 years) including autism or PDD

12 units of education must meet licensing requirement for child development courses

Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English


Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field

3 years of experience

2 years of experience in an early childhood special education setting
